Our story starts with our name. The name Newcomer’s Place honors the life and legacy of Ryan Newcomer. To all who knew him, Ryan was a beacon of light. His humor and kindness made him unforgettable, and as his sister said on the day he passed, “You never met a stranger. You touched everyone’s heart that you crossed paths with.” We intend to do the same.
Ryan’s tragic death after years of struggling with addiction is a stark reminder of the gaps in support for those battling substance use disorders. But our story is not just a story of loss; it is a call to action. Newcomer’s Place is our response—a sober living community designed to fill those gaps, to provide safe, supportive housing where those in recovery can rebuild their lives surrounded by understanding and compassion.
This is why Newcomer’s Place exists: to create a community that Ryan deserved and that so many others fighting for their sobriety need but haven’t always been able to find. We believe in more than just housing—we believe in connection, hope, and recovery that lasts a lifetime.
